The Speechwriter Sid Crowe 9781500794798 Books Reviews

On 4/11/2019, at Baymen Heights MS (Nebraska) 23 kids were murdered. Thomas Math (12) was 1 of them.
The biological father was not around when it happened.
In 2021, mass shootings were the hot media topic.
Anne Math (waiter, Thomas mother, narrator) worked at Danny’s Beans (coffee shop). Jon was the manager.
Jon did not like the way Anne treated Samuel (customer) & fired her on the spot.

Samuel Mann (Governor of Nebraska) was in there also & hired her immediately as a speedwriter. He wanted a definite answer by Monday.
Anne (24) 1st day on the job is to see Amanda (HR). Anne title is media research assistant.
1st yr. Anne got a raise & a promotion.
Anne & Sam met at their favorite café. He told her about a former college Darren Slade (presidential campaign).
Then Sam made Anne an offer that was just unbelievable.
Paul & James (38) worked for Sam.
Anne will now run for President & Eric Toll (PhD, Professor, Philosophy) will run as Vice President.
Daniel Math (author, 183rd Ave) is her campaign manager.
Darren Slade (Sam former business partner) opponent is also running for President.

Anne (25) gave a campaign speech in Colorado. Her topic was the Columbine incident & the loss of her son. Violence vs. intelligence.
Darren was suing Sam, why/what for?
Anne & Darren scheduled a debate at the University of California (LA). The topic is the GDP & unemployment rate
Who will win the election.
My favorite I whole heartily agree; “I’ve met many PhD. Candidates who could not tie their shoes & many HS students (6th graders now) who could make you 2nd guess your intelligence.”

P.S. was 1 of my many undergraduate degrees.

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. Wow, a very well written futuristic political book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make a great futuristic political movie, or mini TV series. 1 you must read to the very end. A very easy rating of 5 stars.

Thank you for the free book (Author; Noisetrade; PDF)

I received this book for free from Story Cartel in exchange for an honest review.

As a former homeschooling parent, all the views on education expressed in this book are views that I also hold. I found this to be fascinating and well thought out. I also support the views on gun control expressed. But other things were so far fetched and not well- developed for example, meeting the governor of your state in a restaurant (the main character is a waitress there) when you interrupt his conversation with his companion to rant about gun control to these two strangers, and then immediately get fired by your boss in public, and simultaneously hired by the governor to be his speechwriter! The sex scene towards the end was gratuitous and unnecessary because it just didn't fit with the book. Running for president as an unknown, inexperienced woman was pretty much unbelievable. Sometimes the conversation was very stilted and juvenile. Finally, the numerous editing, grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and spacing errors was almost more than I could take. But, overall, the story captured my attention and I read the book in one sitting. I don't know if this is a first book for the author or how old he is, but I hope he keeps writing and improving, and uses an editor next time!!
I loved this book! It's been a long time since I've found such a great self-published novel, I had a link sent to me where could download the ebook for free and finally got around to reading it. The book is very original, with elements similar to movies like Donnie Darko and Pay It Forward. It's very powerful, with a strong main character who's both creative and intelligent, and I could almost picture her in my mind.

Unfortunately, this book's theme of school violence is becoming a harsh reality. I live in Canada but it's very similar to the States, and in my school kids are always under so much pressure. Some of them fall into dangerous mental health issues like "cutting" and "burning" and other methods of self-harm, some never get help for it because parents would rather look the other way. Some of them do drugs and come to class drunk or high, and teachers turn a blind eye. And in a neighboring town just a few weeks ago, kids threatened to have a shootout at the city mall and one of them committed suicide. What is causing these kids to do such sinister acts? Is it really that they only want somebody to listen? And how much longer will it be before they find it easier to get ahold of rifles and guns and it's no longer even safe to go to school?

The Speechwriter offers an important message - it's time for the educational system to care what happens to these kids. As Anne gets into politics throughout the novel, it gets even more intriguing. This is a book I highly recommend, I'm really glad to have had the chance to read and review it and I'll definitely be telling my friends about it! Whether you're a teacher, a parent or even just somebody who wants to read a fictional book featuring a serious issue in the modern world, check out The Speechwriter because it's definitely worth it! It's also always great to find self-published books with such a powerful voice in them; a lot of readers don't look at self-pubbed books but they deserve a chance because there are some out there like The Speechwriter that can deliver something much better than the same old generic romance bestsellers and dystopian fad books. The Speechwriter is a gift from a gifted writer and it takes a near-invisible coffee shop worker and gives her the power to be the fictional voice of those in reality who see the problems in the educational system and dare to make a difference.
